Luang Phor Pan Festival Parade

Luang Phor Pan is a revered monk in Bang Bo district that died one hundred years ago. In October every year, his image is taken out and paraded around the province by boat and truck.

In this second video, the boat carrying Luang Phor Pan goes out into the Gulf of Thailand followed closely by hundreds of other boats. Here they do a “winetien” three times in a clockwise direction. After they have completed this, each boat collects a flag.

The image is then taken back to land and is loaded upon a truck for the second part of the parade. Following behind the truck are literally hundreds of cars, pick-up trucks and motorcycles. People in the pick-up trucks hand out food to the people lining the roads.
