Ferry Boat On Chao Phraya River

This is a video (เรือข้ามฟากแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา) showing a trip on the cross river ferry boat from Phra Samut Chedi Pier (A) to Samut Prakan Pier (B) at the Paknam Market. The trip takes about 10 minutes and costs 3.5 baht for adults. Boats from Paknam take the blue route and then return on the orange route (see map below). However, at low tide they only take the orange route. There are usually at least four boats running on this route so you don’t have to wait long. There is a fort on the southern end of the island called Phi Sua Samut fort. This island also has thousands of bats that you can see fly out in the early evening.

Hi Richard. I saw that you also had a bicycle trip once on the chedi side so my question is: Are bicycles allowed at all on the ferry and how did you get your bicycle through if not? The room seems very limited… Thanks! Seems so hard to get this simple info online.

Yes, you can take your bicycle on the cross-river ferry. For now, anyway.
