Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden is located in Bang Kachao Sub-District, Samut Prakan Province with an area over 200 Rai. This place was established for being the source production of fresh air, the public park for relaxing and exercising for the people. Also, it is a place for ecosystem education on plant species and animals both local and within nearby area. Therefore, it compares as one of an oasis for the city people who want to experience nature, the local way of life and escaping Bangkok’s chaos.

The garden’s characteristic is a combination of public parks that the landscape has been arranged beautifully. It consists of aquatic plants, local plants that are able to grow within brackish water and preserve the original agricultural garden which was the original fruit garden. This park and botanical garden is a Greenfield that the government declared to be “the lungs of Bangkok.” A wooden bridge is for visitors to stroll on peaceful and shady area, including the 7 meters high tower view that can capture the whole scenery of this area. Bicycles are also available for rent for biking around the garden. The garden opens from 6:00 – 20:00 hours. For more information, you can call to 02-4610972. Other than the botanic garden, there is so Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market which opens every Saturday and Sunday, Siamese Fighting Fish Gallery, and Incense and Herbal House that can transport around by bicycle.

Getting there: For transportation, if you are coming by a personal car, from Phra Pradaeng T-intersection (Suk Sawat Road) turn left on the T-intersection, turn left again when arriving at Phra Pradaeng Market passing the Songtham Woravihan Temple along Phetchahung Road for 6 kilometers. Then turn left into Ratrangsan Temple’s Soi for about 2 kilometers. You will see Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden on the side of the road on the right side. If travelling by a public bus or BMTA (Bangkok Mass Transit Authority) Number 82 and 138 and Affiliated bus number 6, you get off at Phra Pradaeng Market then get on the local bus Phra Pradaeng – Bang Kobua line. Or by BTS Sky Train, you get off at BTS Bangna Station, then by car, entering Sanphawut Road until seeing Chao Phraya River on the edge, then cross the river on Bangna Nork Temple Pier to Bang Krachao.
