Wisakha Bucha Day At Wat Klang

Wisakha Bucha Day simultaneously commemorates three important anniversaries in the life of Siddharta Gautama, the Lord Buddha: his birth, his enlightenment, and his death. This day falls in May on the full moon day. This year it was on Friday 28th May 2010. Early in the morning, Buddhists went to their local temples to offer food to the monks. We took these pictures at Wat Klang in Amphoe Muang. After making merit, the people took part in chanting and then listened to a sermon. In the evening, they returned for a candlelight procession around the chapel.
